There are 2 types of tinnitus:

Objective Tinnitus, can come from vascular anomalies, abnormal contractions of the muscles in the middle ear (ENT sphere), or inner ear structural defects.

Subjective Tinnitus can come from any level of the eustachian tubes, also called auditory tube, (passage of the external ear to the brain).
However, the most wide-spread origin is the cochlea.

Tinnitus can occur at any age, but mostly for people over 60 years of age.
We notice a significant hearing loss, in older people in relation to presbycusis, people who work in a noisy environment (orchestras, workshops, boiler shops), people who overuse walkmans, and who are frequently going to rock concerts.

Tinnitus can be related to certain problems, such as hypertension, head trauma, acoustic neurinoma, Meniere’s disease, endocrine disorders, internal and/or external ear problems, and allergic manifestations.
